Overview

Across the Asia-Pacific region, jurisdictions are also moving forward with the introduction of sustainability disclosure frameworks based on ISSB Standards. At the same time, the practical implementation of sustainability disclosures by companies, and their use by investors in corporate valuation and investment decision-making, is still evolving in many countries and regions.

The Asia Sustainability Symposium is organized by the Securities Analysts Association of Japan (SAAJ) in cooperation with the IFRS Foundation Asia-Oceania Office. Through the following discussions, the symposium aims to identify key challenges and pathways toward the practical implementation of ISSB Standards following regulatory adoption.

  • Keynote Speeches Emmanuel Faber (ISSB Chair) and Toshitake Inoue (Director-General, Policy and Markets Bureau, Financial Services Agency) will discuss the latest developments in ISSB Standards and the progress of sustainability disclosure initiatives in Japan, respectively.
  • Panel Sessions Panel 1 will bring together leading investors and companies from across the Asia-Pacific region to discuss how sustainability-related financial information can be effectively incorporated into corporate valuation and investment decision-making. Panel 2 will also examine how the use of sustainability information can contribute to more robust, resilient, and sustainable capital markets.

A networking session will be held after the conclusion of the program, providing an opportunity for speakers and participants to connect and exchange views.

The symposium is open to the public and free of charge. We sincerely look forward to your participation. Pre-registration is required.
